What is Klyr?
Klyr is a native macOS storage-management utility. It maps accessible disk usage, finds large files and content-verified duplicates, reviews rebuildable developer data, and lets you choose what moves to Trash.
Does Klyr delete files automatically?
No. Klyr presents findings for review. You select every item, and the normal removal workflow moves selected items to macOS Trash. You can inspect the exact path, size, and reason before acting.
Does Klyr upload file names, paths, or contents?
No. Storage scanning and file classification run locally on your Mac. Optional third-party AI features require your own provider key and show what will be sent before you choose to use them. Read the complete Privacy Policy.
How does Klyr find duplicate files?
Klyr first narrows possible matches by file size, then verifies file contents with SHA-256. Matching names alone are not treated as proof. You decide which copy, if any, should move to Trash. See the duplicate-verification method.
Why can a Mac storage scan be incomplete?
macOS privacy permissions, protected system locations, cloud placeholders, encrypted data, links, and files changing during a scan can prevent any storage utility from reading every byte. Klyr reports inaccessible locations instead of treating them as empty. Read how storage measurement works.
Does Klyr require Full Disk Access?
Klyr Lite does not require Full Disk Access and analyzes folders you explicitly select. Klyr Pro can use Full Disk Access for broader visibility, but the permission is optional and remains controlled by macOS. Klyr cannot bypass macOS protections. Understand the remaining system limits.
What is the difference between Klyr Lite and Klyr Pro?
Klyr Lite is the free, sandboxed Mac App Store edition. Klyr Pro is a direct-download edition that adds permission-aware views for app leftovers, Xcode and Homebrew data, system caches, APFS snapshots, startup items, and storage history. Compare the editions on the pricing page.
Is Klyr a Mac cleaner or antivirus?
No. Klyr is a storage-analysis and file-review utility. It does not provide remote technical support, repair hardware, remove malware, or promise to speed up a Mac.
Which Macs does Klyr support?
Klyr supports macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Local scanning works offline; downloads, updates, activation, and Sign in with Apple require a connection. See system requirements.
Is Klyr Pro a subscription?
No. Klyr Pro is planned as a one-time purchase with a $29 USD launch price and no automatic renewal. One personal license covers up to three Macs and includes Klyr Pro 1.x updates. Checkout is not yet available while payment-provider review is pending.
