What Klyr actually cleans
Klyr finds large files, content-verified exact duplicates, app-related support files, and known Xcode storage locations. Those are candidates for review, not guaranteed junk. You choose individual items and the normal removal path moves them to macOS Trash after safety checks.
A safer order of operations
- Check available capacity in macOS Storage.
- Scan the folder or volume you want to understand.
- Review old downloads, installers, and completed exports first.
- Inspect duplicate paths, developer archives, and app support data in context.
- Move only selected files to Trash and test affected workflows before emptying it.
- Rescan to check actual recovered capacity.

What it does not promise
Klyr is not antivirus, an uninstaller that guarantees all related data is disposable, or a way around macOS permissions. System Data is not a folder to delete wholesale. APFS snapshots and clones can make actual recovered capacity differ from a file's displayed size.
Privacy and edition choice
Storage analysis is local. The free Lite edition scans user-selected folders within its sandbox; Pro provides deeper permission-aware views and optional AI features. Optional analytics and AI have separate controls and are explained in the privacy policy. Compare Lite and Pro.
