Terms of Use
Klyr helps you inspect and clean storage, but you remain in control of every removal. Lite is free; Pro is a separately distributed paid product. Keep a backup, review each selection, and contact us if anything looks wrong.
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the Klyr applications, command-line tools, website, downloads, and related services (collectively, “Klyr”). By downloading, purchasing, or using Klyr, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Klyr.
2. Who provides Klyr
Klyr is published by Stringsway Technologies. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Stringsway Technologies. Questions may be sent to vivek.yadav@stringswaytech.com.
3. Editions and distribution
- Klyr Lite is the sandboxed Mac App Store edition. Your use of the store and its services is also subject to Apple's terms.
- Klyr Pro is distributed directly as a signed and notarized macOS application. It can request broader file access and provides additional tools.
Features may differ because the two editions operate under different macOS distribution and sandbox rules.
4. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Klyr for its intended purpose. Klyr and its branding remain owned by Stringsway Technologies and its licensors. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.
You may not resell license credentials, circumvent license checks, use Klyr to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with the service. Restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not limit rights granted by an applicable open-source license.
5. Purchases and refunds
Prices and included features are shown at checkout. Klyr Pro is currently advertised as a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription. Taxes and currency conversion may apply depending on your location.
For a direct Klyr Pro purchase, you may request a refund within 14 days by emailing us with your order ID. Apple controls any purchase or refund processed through the Mac App Store. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protections available in your country.
6. Storage operations and your responsibility
Klyr presents storage findings and requires your review before removal. File classifications and size calculations can be incomplete because of permissions, links, cloud placeholders, filesystem behavior, or other macOS restrictions.
- Review paths and safety information before confirming an action.
- Maintain a current backup of important files.
- Do not remove an item if you do not understand its purpose.
- Items normally move to Trash, but recovery is not guaranteed after Trash is emptied or storage is overwritten.
7. Accounts and security
Some Pro services may use Sign in with Apple or a license credential. You are responsible for access to your Mac and accounts. Notify us promptly if you believe a Klyr license or account has been compromised.
8. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy explains what Klyr processes and where. Optional features may interact with Apple, Firebase, Sparkle, or an AI provider you select. Those providers' terms and privacy policies also apply to their services.
9. Updates and availability
We may issue fixes, security updates, or feature changes. We do not promise that every feature will remain available indefinitely or work on every macOS version and hardware configuration. If a change materially affects a paid entitlement, we will provide a reasonable remedy consistent with applicable law.
10. Warranty disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Klyr is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, perfectly complete scan results, or that every suggested item is safe for every workflow. Statutory warranties that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stringsway Technologies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of Klyr. Our aggregate liability relating to a paid Klyr product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product during the twelve months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
12. Termination
You may stop using Klyr at any time. We may suspend access to online services when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security threats, or a material breach of these Terms. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as Klyr evolves. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the website or application when reasonably practicable. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Pune, Maharashtra will have jurisdiction, except where the mandatory law of your residence gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
